| AMC had a documentary on 9/11, in particular the UA 93 flight that crashed in a field in Virginia. While I do sway to the Republican side of some things, I was pretty upset about the US intelligence before all this. As much as those fukin extreme democrat hippies complain about Bush, I support the money and man power put into the intelligence and defense agencies. It's a wonder how we haven't gotten our asses bombed in the US ... the way I see it, the hippie activists will complain if our asses get bombed.. saying the republican gov't is doing shit and our money went to useless means, and if you don't get bombed as it is now, they'll find another dumbass reason to protest. And to further piss any hippies reading this.. i'm all for gov't spying on citizens: unsolicted wire tappings, spying on emails, you name it. It's all worth it for the safety of the citizens. people are too paranoid.. if you are talking about buying a nug of weed on the fone... the gov't isn't gonna waste their time to catch your ass. If you are talking about a confidential business plan in an email.. gov't is gonna care. I figure as long as you have nothing to hide.. as far as bombs and terrorism goes, it's worth having a big brother watching for your well-being. yes, there is that argument that allowing this will lead to other breach of privacy.. like video cameras in your house.. blackmail, but once it goes that far.. my stand changes. I'm just talking about the gov't intervntion as far as terrorism goes.
Regardless of whoever is running the government, I support them whole heartedly.. as long as the USA is safe and our lives are secured. So this may be at the cost of lives in other countries on the short end of the stick, but it's all about sacrifices. Bush isn't a cock tease about that.. even if it's a *stupid* reason for his actions.. he has kept us safe, at whatever cost. I'll agree this is a self-centered arrogant way of looking at things, but if you know me, you know me as one who doesn't give a shit.
Anyways, the documentary stirred up a lot of thought.. about our intelligence agencies, our position in the middle east, how we are dealing with homeland security. In retrospect, I sometimes wonder how it would have been if I joined the NSA instead of Cisco..... but i think my life in general is much more blissful and comfortable at Cisco. |
